Samuel M. SNYDER was born in Sept. 1823 in Huntingdon Co. now Blair, PA. He married Keziah HAWKE possibly in Cambria Co. PA ca 1844. Keziah was bonr in 1824 in Huntingdon Co. Samuel died 1906 in Indiana Co. PA, and is burried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Rochester Mills, Indiana Co. Keziah died between 1887-1900 probably in Indiana Co.

Samuel and Keziah had twelve children:

William born 1845 in Susquehanna Twp., Cambria Co.;

Mary born 1847 in Susquehanna Twp. Cambria Co.;

Elizabeth J. born 1849;

John Hawke born 1851;

Susan born 1853 in Cherry Tree, Indiana Co;

Lucy born 1854;

Samuel Sylvester born 1855;

Kesiah H. born 1857;

George W. born 1859;

Emma W. born 1860;

Clara born 1863; and

Alice b. 1865 in Grant Twp. Indiana Co.

Keziah HAWK/HAWKE has been the ancestor I haven't been able to trace. One would suspect she might be German, but I haven't found her in any records. Family tradition from three seperate branches note that she is American Indian. I have tried to prove or disprove this for 15 years.

My husband and I are both related to Keziah. She is our great, great grandmother. My husband is related through Sam and Keziah's son, Samuel Sylvester. I am related through their daughter Clara.
